According to the College Board, a "moderate" college budget for tuition alone at in-state public college for the 2017-2018 academic year averaged $32,410 at a private college, $9,410 as an in-state student at a public college, and $23,890 as an out-of-state student at a public college. This means today’s four year investment in college tuition averages between $38,000- $130,000.

Choosing a college that is a right fit saves one the need to transfer or drop out, thus saving thousands in lost tuition dollars when courses do not transfer or lead to a degree.

On average, there is only one high school college counselor per 476 students.
